Watch CJ Cummings and Mattie Rogers.
Cummings choked big time. I think the pressure got to him or he just wasn’t prepared. That Chinese dude may be on some super genetics or have a team of doctors to beat the tests. Probably just hard work and genetics though.

cummings looked lost from the moment he stepped on the platform. Missing that opening snatch didnt help anything either.

the Chinese lifter was on another level strength and physique wise. Hit the WR total and dominated the entire night.

Yes, I'd agree. He is capable of MUCH more. This was also his fist time at the big show. He'll have another chance at it. He's set Junior WRs so he's no slouch.

Harrison Maurus gave a good showing, coming in fourth in his weight class. We will see good things from him I’m sure moving forward.

They ALL use. They also are FAR beyond simple AAS you and I are accustomed to. This is why they hold samples from each athlete and test them later.
Yeah. The IOC pretends like they are the standard bearers for clean sports (though crossfit is giving them competition for that from what i hear). They just don't get caught. I was told by someone who made it pretty far in the Olympic trials a few years back "the Olympics would be lame without peds."

It just makes me think about how Barry Bonds never failed a drug test...

They changed all the weight classes around as a sort of penalty to the doping. Records were basically erased, like shaking an Etch-A-Sketch.

There's talk about removing it as an Olympic event now, yet stupid events like steeplechase, speedwalking, and synchronized anything remain.

The more comprehensive testing and biological passport have also created a situation where athletes are doping even younger now than they had previously. You need to be on bioidentical exogenous hormones before you enter the testing pool to have a more favorable biological passport for future doping.

The Olympics aren't less dirty, they're more dirty. Compound selection is just more limited and in some cases, exotic.

Anyone who thinks the athletes in the Olympics are "clean" are only fooling themselves. I know a very famous, well known coach who had lifters in the Olympics say, "if you're not cheating, you're not trying." and I was there when he said it.

Watched Lasha dominate again tonight. He is so far ahead of everyone it’s almost otherworldly. His snatch opener sets the Olympic record and then he goes and hits another OR then the WR and has to follow himself. Same thing in C&J. I wish oly lifting did rounds so these guys don’t have to follow themselves. imagine if lasha had 10-15 min between attempts instead of 2.

Talakhadze is superhuman. I know its a different sport but Brian Shaw- Eddie Hall would be eclipsed by this guy in strength.

I don’t agree with that at all. Olympic weightlifting requires tremendous strength but there is massive technique as well. Lasha doesn’t have the static strength of either of those men. There’s a reason only two men have deadlifted 1100. Hall has also done over 500 in the log press. There have been 6 men to clean and jerk over 262.5lbs. Lasha, however, is king of the snatch.
