Went to a new doc today

I have been using a clinic, which I have been happy with, expect they are so expensive. So I was hoping if I go see an actual endo I could get a prescription and save some bucks. I saw her today. I told her I am taking test cyp, HCG, and AI and the dosage of each. She was a bit condescending, which I ignored. But she said I'm taking too much test (not a surprise), that I can just do once a week instead of twice and that if I take less I won't need the AI. Okay, so far so good. But she is against the HCG, saying that my balls are "cosmetic." She also said the HCG will cause my nuts to generate test,. which seems to me like a feature, not a bug. And she wants to get me to normal "for a man your age" which I see as a red flag. On the - I guess - plus side, she basically accepted that since I have been doing the TRT for several years there is no going back so I need the test.

For the low low price of $219 for the visit (need to satisfy the insurance deductible) I got this lecture and a lab order. She wants labs tomorrow, then keep doing what I'm doing for 2 months and labs again, then go pay (I mean see) here again. But I know she is going to want to discontinue HCG and I don't want to.

So I'm trying to decide if I should go any further with her or just tell her thanks anyhow.

Ask her about the other benefits that HCG can do besides cosmetic balls. And if she thinks not stimulating those pathways is the healthy way to go and let those atrophy as well.

I'm 45 and been on test for aprox 13 months at different dosages. No hcg ever and I wouldn't say my balls have shriveled away. Not even enough for my wife to notice....I can tell, buts it's not a big deal. Any reason your even using a clinic and not self medicating?

FWIW my PCP gives me 200mg per week, no ai, no hcg, bloods every 6 months, $10 per month for generic test cyp. haven't taken hcg in years and my nurtz are fine and I still have swimmers too!

2) who gives a shit how big your balls are? I'll answer that for you: nobody but you.

3) see number 1. More alarming by far than any issue about your ball size is the statement "for a man of your age". Your trt doc should be looking at a man of your lifestyle.

That "for a man of your age" shit drives me insane, especially when at 60, I'm in better shape than my 40 year old doc.

100% bricks. I starting cruising at 26 and got my PCP to prescribe in my young 30s. It's a medical thing, not an age thing and PCPs these days are starting to understand that. they are out there.

Regarding number 2, yes I do care, and that's sufficient.

I didn't return to this doctor. At this point I'm sticking with the clinic. The money I'm spending shopping around for a sympathetic doctor is more than the clinic costs.

When I was on it, I had Peter North like loads. It wasn't worth the estrogen related side effects though. They were too hard to control with Anastrozole. I either had high estradiol sides or crashed it, but could never find a happy medium while on it.

I was also told hCG would give me positive mental effects and I noted no difference on it or off it except for the estradiol related sides being pretty dang annoying.
