I've never been big on plyometric or body workouts but really want to start doing them. I'm 6'1, 192 lbs of mostly muscle but I want to cut fat and drop my weight to around 175-180 lbs as well so I can be quicker/faster. I'm no stranger to lower body workouts like squats and lunges and I have no problem with either (max squat is 380) I just want to transfer that strength into more power and explosiveness. Should I just start doing things like box jumps and what not?

How old are you? Do you play football?

Dont worry so much about how much you weigh... you can be fast and big. I played D1 football and ran a 40 in the mid 4's while my weight ranged from 275-290

Look into over speed training with bungees, sleds, parachutes... im sure theres some new shiite out there now too.

Keep up with the squats/dead lifts/cleans/bench... the basics.

If you want to lean up hire a dietician (Helios is on here and offers many options)

oh.. and yes... the box jumps and stuff work for that application.

Low weight/High Reps 20+
