As was chatting with a urologist recently, and anytime I talk to a doctor I ask what one piece of advice he has that most people don’t know.

He said everybody should be taking cranberry supplements. His reasons were:

- kidney health
- urinary tract
- reduce risk of heart disease
- antioxidants reduce cancer risk
- reduce plaque on teeth/gums
- anti-inflammatory

I was wondering if anyone else knows anything about this stuff or has any experience with it. He said to take the chewables, chewable multivitamins and fish oil, and that’s all he takes daily. He’s 70 years old and looks and acts 50.

I have heard of its use for the kidneys and urinary tract. I don't know about reducing plaque on gums. That is caused by food and drink and really shouldnt be a problem if someone brushes their teeth. Sounds like something a dentist would say lol

All berries are good for you in the bullet points you made. Haven't heard about the plaque and gums part though. I tend to eat a lot of dark berries myself.

It was something to do with the plaque binding, unfortunately he was jamming a pin into my sack, so I was a little foggy.

Cranberries contain high levels of iodine (4oz = 400 mcg) same as kelp and seaweed.

Iodine is a powerful stimulant of the thyroid (metabolism) as well as a powerful antioxidant that detoxes the body from bromide, chlorine, and flouride. So it detoxes, increases metabolism, and it also improves immune system health. It has even been shown to fight cancer cells.
