So I’m looking for a place to buy simple Carlson’s brand vitamins. Specifically Fish oil, Vitamin D and magnesium. The local shops don’t always carry that brand.

Who should I give my business to? I prefer not to shop with large chains if possible. Are there any privately owned places that do something good for our community? Vet owned or any other positive reason to go with them?

I say get your fitness supplies wherever and go with the little guy for the other stuff LOL. I dont know of any private owned places that sell stuff like that, dont think ive ever seen one honestly, its always been like a vitamin shop, gnc, wallmart type place.

I think it will be tough to find a small guy that isnt really owned and just re-branded from a much bigger corporate owned joint.

Sadly you’re probably right. Had to give it a shot though!

Many GNCs are franchises now and are owned by small business owners.

They still charge an arm and a leg though.

Edit: just saw you were looking for online. Never mind.

Id be shocked to find a tiny tiny company selling their own stuff. They might have their own label, but they are not the ones doing the MFG process

You make a great point. I only said online since the odds of anyone knowing a local store would be low. Finding a decent franchisee is a nice compromise.
