First bodybuilding show in Japan

Went to the NPCJ West Japan Championships today.

Pretty underwhelming.

4 guys in classic physique
2 BB masters
8 open BB

and (literal figure here) 121 in Men’s physique. Holy shit that stuff is BORING

Notable:
Japanese men are born for men’s physique.
Nobody over 200lbs in open BB
Everybody in open BB stuffed their crotch except the two masters guys. Some notably so.
By my estimation zero competitors were on any PEDs.
The guy who won open BB also won his height group in men’s physique.

So, a guy in my town knows an 83 year old dude (still competes) who is a coach. I figure I might as well step on stage considering the lack of talent (I’ll add both additional lack of talent and additional average body weight to the class). Probably next year around this time. I’d like to find a show with more guys in the BB category, however.

The ratio of men’s physique competitors vs bodybuilders is pretty in line with the ratio of people who don’t vs do train legs in the gym. Makes sense.

My first show, a dude did his night show to Roxette (she's got) "The look". Everyone was like, WTF? But I did mine to Bon Jovi "Livin' on a prayer" so I guess I can't throw stones. lol

Was the posing bad? There's always a guy who tries a back flip. Not a good idea on an oily stage.
