Hey guys , wanted to introduce myself, im a 44 year old from St Louis mo. I've traned ever since serving in the usmc. I'm joining this forum to take my training to the next level
My training is in a rut, back and bus, chest Tris, shoulder s and legs..I'm tired of it and want to change my training but no idea on which direction to go
Welcome aboard. There is lots of good advice on this forum, and some of it is actually true!
At 45 years of age, I found 5x5 and 5/3/1 to be some useful programs to switch things up. I have been running a modified 5/3/1 program designed by my stepfather for nearly 1.5 years. I start out doing 5/3/1 with my major lift for that particular day, then switch to a lot of volume on my accessory lifts. The down side is my workouts tend to run longer, like a minimum of 1.5 hours, but I find that managed to get me out of a rut where I was stuck to the point where I couldn't build muscle or increase the weight.
