I believe you are right.

If that is true. The IRA guy appears to have some guys that are there watching his back. The big guy wants CMac away from the old man... the others let him come back up to, among other things, wave his fist in the air, him pour him a drink rub his nose and beard and then hit him with the same hand. They should be the ones with a price on their head.


WO knowing the details, its still a POS move on CMacs part.

It's this. It was never about the whiskey although McGregor's insistence that all at the bar drink a shot with him might have tipped things off.

The old gent at the bar taunted "The Russian battered you" which prompted the punch.

Not sayin' it was the correct response (it wasn't) but it weren't about the old man's refusing to drink a shot.
