I am not interested in source talk, i desperately need some advice from experts.

I am a 17 old male, having always had an extremely interest in sports from an early age.

I've spunked countless years on cardio (long distance cycling/running) having averaged 12 hours a week.

About a year back, i decided to start weightlifting - done my research; optimized my workouts, diet and recovery (including sleep). Took my time; and most importantly stopped all the cardio.

Although, unfortunately ive gained hardly any muscle/strength.

Recently i had unrelated blood test, and was given a printout of the results.

Everything was in check excluding the testosterone. Having just been above 300 (327).

I'm not an expert by any means, but from my understanding, the average test of a guy my age is roughly 700.

So wtf gives? Was it all the cardio? **** knows. Either way - I'm making efforts to increase my testosterone naturally.

Steroids are a LAST resort option (would only take enough to put me in the optimal range) - yes they're not necessary for "biological well-being" but i'm physically weak; and i'll be ****ed if i'm wasting my prime years being skinny and weak.

And if I'm being ****ing stupid for even considering steroids; feel free to rip me a new one.

All help will be much appreciated, cheers.
Soz for the shit English, never my strongest subject.

Your testosterone should be well above 700 at your age.

You should see a doctor. I doubt it’s the cardio.

How is your sex drive? Energy level? Mental acuity? Overall feeling?

There are other pharmaceutical routes to go before you’d be considered for testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).

Go back and get blood work. Get the bloods pulled first thing in the morning after a good nights rest. Get a full hormone panel. We also need to know your LH/FSH.

Hmmmm...I mean if it were me I’d be really concerned. My nephew had low t as a teenager, i believe he was put on testosterone therapy. Might be something you need.

Youll need more bloodwork to show the whole story.

Agree. Need more blood work. Follow what Jin said. If you doc says that you already had blood work, then you need to start discussing treatment options... But honestly, at your age, I'd hate to see you go on TRT for the rest of your life if there is potentially a simple reason for the deficiency. I would recommend you ask your doc to refer you to an Endocrinologist. They specialize in hormones.

You stated that you were given a printout of your bloodwork results. Post them here so we can do a little digging. Block out your name, obviously.

"How is your sex drive?" I'm asexual - always have been. Hard to determine unfortunately.
"Energy level?" This one i have never understood. Even when i was doing all the cardio for years; i always felt like complete shit. Yet i was always able to man up and move on.
"Mental acuity" and "Overall feeling", ever seen the movie Logan?, where the main character clearly feels like shit all the time; yet he's still able to perform daily tasks and such when he needs to. That's how i would describe myself.

Cheers for the advice btw. I'll be sure to get another blood test.

Had the blood test a few weeks back, threw out the results. I'll attempt to get another printout. Difficult for me though, i like in the UK and the medical system is... difficult to say the least (NHS is a shit-show). If i can't get another printout/blood test. I'll get another blood test done privately.

I'll be logging off for now, getting pretty late in the UK. I'll check back soon tomorrow.

Cheers for all the advice.

Thanks for the advice, last thing i want are steroids at my age. I'm rather short (5 foot 7), and hoping to grow a bit more. I know steroids are infamous for fusing growth plates - people my age.

Like AD said, if it were me I would ask my doc for a referral to an endocrinologist. As far as posting your lab results here, don't bother. We are not physicians specializing in endocrinology. Take care of this with the doc.

Find a different doctor. People shop around for everything, research purchases before hand, get multiple quotes, etc....Why not be the health care consumer you should be for how much we all pay?

brother....

My younger bro could be just like you...

He was your size at 17, didnt show too much signs of puberty....My mother already took him a regular basis for tes n gh level tests.

In college he shot up in height, weight, etc......everything he didnt have before.

Im 6ft, 210 (a lot from diet/lifting/gear) but hes 5'10.5 & 185 with just lifting....no gear ever

so your body could just be late to the party, but i do know from his seeing his struggles daily it is hard to go through.

Doctor.
Before going through a life long TRT, you need a doctor to find the root of the problem because a different treatment could rebalance your hormones.

If this is not possible right now, try a PCT. it’s a 4 weeks protocol with Clomid and Novaldex. It’s certainly not going to hurt you, and depending on your issue this could put your numbers up.

Go to an endocrinologist. Most doctors will brush this off but it will make a very very big difference in your life if you fix it. I had low T (297) at 18 and fixing it changed my life in many more ways than just gym and muscles. Optimal levels are important for good health.

Kid, don't **** with steroids until you're at least 25, if at all. For Test boosting naturally, try this:

1) Drink only distilled water (tap water can have estrogens)

2) Do NOT drink or eat from plastic containers, also do not cook in stick-free pans (they're coated with plastic and have been linked to Low Testosterone and small penis, serious)

3) Take Borax, 1/2 tsp in 500ml of water, drink a couple swigs a day, or lets say a tablespoon full

4) Take a supplement called FertilAid, Amazon, $30

other possibilities are low dose Exemestane (Aromasin), Clomid, those will both pump up your test, but you have to be careful as the Aromasin can tank your estrogen TOO low.

All the best to you man

Just to cover some bases:

Do you have any history of drug/alcohol use?

Have you ever had a major surgery or been prescribed corticosteroids or other anti-inflammatory medications?

How about a history of major illnesses?
