great intro Nice2MeetU
Ok guys just got back from the gym. LEG DAY!! I tried the Smith machine for squats and surprisingly I was able to work up to 225 did it twice pretty proud of myself. Felt alot safer without having to worry about dropping it on top of me. I think I can probably do more but I'm gonna stick to 135-185 for a few weeks before trying to jump up gotta get my legs used to squatting since I tend to stay away from it. Thanks for the advice to try it out! Game changer for me.
As a new lifter (or performing a new movement) you shouldn’t be going under 10 reps per set initially IMO.
If you can only get 2 reps that means the weight is way too heavy.
walk before you run. Crawl before you walk.
Too much weight too soon is a great way to get injured.
Buildng muscle isn’t about moving a certain amount of weight. It’s about fatiguing the muscle with the proper amount of load.
