Yesterday morning, the HR guy calls me into his office to show me that he found my resume' online. He even had the gall to demand that I take it down. I just pointed out that he was real "Johnny on the spot" since my resume' was online when I found the position that I currently have, and it will be online long after I am gone.

So he asks: "Are you going to take it down?"

He didn't like my response of: "F*ck no and f*ck you for even asking such a thing!"

Monday should prove to be interesting.

As an aside note, I'm no longer banking on the job that I was offered because my start date was delayed three times... Even if I do get a start date, the delays have caused me to have significant doubts. The crazy thing is that management set up an office right down the road from my house just so I could go and work for them, but I'm guessing their situation changed for the worst...

Honestly, fook HR people who carry themselves like the 'Social Media Nazis' of their company. How about instead asking ye "Hey, hows everything going? We want ye to stay, yer a good employee, is everything cool from your perspective and if not how can I help?" rather than demanding ye take down yer resume.

HR is a legacy construct thats outlasted its utility, IMO. Better to just have a legal dept that officiates the sexual harassment claims rather than some desk jockey who isn't skilled or tough enough to work in the yard and not smart enough to be an engineer and so he makes his living fooking with the ones who are.

I work in HR and my job is to make our company a place where no one ever wants to leave.

Sounds like your guy sucks at his job.

Do you offer free hookers and [violates a forum rule]?

If so, I will handle relocation expenses myself..

You know that one guy who thinks he's cool when the reality is he is the most opposite of cool dork you ever met in your entire life? How about the creepy 50 something year-old dude, who looks like a balding yet still has a mullet Jeep Bro from the 80s with a dad bod, trying to pick up college age girls in the club? Add those together and you get this company's HR guy!

EDIT: This fool tried to argue with me when I told him that he failed as a HR guy because he did not verify I-9s. Literally, they just completed the I-9s and stuck them in the employee file. Then, the dumb sh!t tried to pull ignorance. Let me know how well ignorance works out in an audit... I'm sure you as an HR guy can figure out the something else he did wrong without me even pointing it out...

You are a cpa. You could literally get a job with any company that does it’s own accounting. Every day you wake up with a choice where to work. It’s hr’s job to make sure you pick them. HR often complains about not having a seat at the executive table. Sounds like the tools you work with are the reason why.

sounds kinda illegal for him to ask you to take it down since its not degrading the company in anyway. im suprised he was stupid enough to ask you to take it down.

The crazy thing is it will get worse, SOON! I procrastinated on creating a resume' website for myself for quite some time, and it is almost ready to go live! I started this process several years ago because my experience is so vast that it is tough to put everything that I have done on a couple of pages, so I figured the website was the way to go. The only hangup was getting the ideas in my head into HTML and CSS. I have a Dreamweaver site that is almost ready to publish!

You should update your resume and quit this miserable job of yours. It sounds absolutely dreadful.

He has a very obsolete view on things. Most people’s resumes are online today. It’s called LinkedIn.

The thing is, I no longer want to work for them, regardless of pay. They broke certain promises to me, and as a result, the relationship cannot be salvaged.

I'm probably stuck there through this last quarter as hiring usually slows down at this time of year... Unless I come up with a business idea that starts generating some decent income...
