Hello UGBB world. I've been lingering about different sites for a while now. This seems like a helpful, knowledgeable community.
I played football, HS, JC, Arena, and semi pro for 21 years. At age 35 it was time to trade the cleats for a coaches whistle, and whiteboard. At 6'3" and 285lbs it has taken a toll on the body. It was at this time I was looking for ways to gain some of my mobility, flexibility, and dexterity back. After a game on Saturday night, it was straight into the ice bath for 15, and no hard training until late Tuesday or Wednesday. That was 3.5 years ago, and I have been on TRT since that time, and it has been a positive life changing experience. I can practice with my team, and also train my second passion Jiu Jitsu without worry of recovery, or feeling all that worn out, and beat up.
I don't lift heavy that much any more. Well not the three major lifts anyways. I have traded away most of my free weights for a Bowflex with extra resistance Rods to save space. Still produce about 325lb resistance on bench. It is not optimal, but good enough to keep my half geriatric ass in good shape.
After not playing and coaching my waist went from 36-42. No bueno. Since TRT it is back to 39, but I am having trouble even with meal planning getting back down to 36 or less. Arms, chest and back are all tight, but that stubborn belly fat ring is the hardest to get rid of.
Any way enough of that. I am looking forward to the knowledge to be gained, and imparting what little I have along the way.
