    What's now attractive

Walking through the mall with my lovely bride and in one of the store windows is this below. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but is this where we are going?

I get that it's not health, both mentally and physically to portray the 80's Barbie look any more. I know not everyone can look a certain way and that some struggle with weight gain. Still in all, the "Barbie Doll" pendulum has swung too far for my liking. I'm all for diversity and inclusion but at some point, the individual needs to meet society half way.

It's concerning to me that regardless of what is viewed as attractive or not not attractive, we are in some ways condoning obesity.

If this is a store display, I can't fault them for marketing to their demographic.

People are overweight, and they need clothes. It's a business decision.

I do understand what you're saying though, and I agree. Being overfat isn't healthy, and people should try to be as healthy as possible, within reason.

I agree 100% Snake. It's really bad here. People are so big that they ride the handicap carts in the grocery store. Not because of a disability but because they're lazy. Trying to achieve a certain body image can lead to an unhealthy lifestyle, (on both sides of the spectrum) I'm sure we can agree with that. I'll never be a ripped and chiseled Greek god of a man like some, and I do t try, but I do try to maintain my health enough to get out and do things.

Side note: I've ve always been a firm believer that just because they make it in your size that doesn't mean that you should wear it.

Those Mart Karts should be automatically disabled when they try to drive down the snack food aisle. You want Oreos, walk over and get them fatty!

Oh I completely agree here; the market is following a need, not creating one. I do think it is good that a plus size woman has access to stylish clothing. There's no reason to dress frumpy at any weight. Not that I think the ones in that pic are styling.

Many people outside our demographic would say the exact same thing about the body image people here are chasing. Unhealthy and unattractive.

My views of what is attractive has never changed. After all, the only opinion that matters is mine.

Never been a fan of both extremes( super thin or super heavy)
