Went to see the doc today first time they tested it read 160/90! Then they waited and found a larger cuff. Number is still a little high 134/88. I told them the same thing happened last time gotta take note of the 18in pythons. Also I’ve been on Sudafed around the clock for this damn sinusitis. What are some things you guys use to keep you bp in check?

100mg niacin and 600mg magnesium 2x/day I have found it to help a little, 5-10 points. Niacin also helps triglycerides if I recall correctly so there's an added benefit by taking it.

Cuff size does matter but its sometime just the fact that you've been sitting a little while longer until they get the biggercuff after using the small one. Could be a little White Coat Syndrome. Get a home unit and check it yourself.

Yup, mine's roughly 10/10 higher at Dr's vs at home.

This.

Check it a few times a day for a few days. A single reading isn't enough to diagnose hypertension. You want to look for an overall trend.

I would also add, if you do decide to monitor your BP at home, don't waste your money on one of those electric wrist ones. They're not accurate. The best way is still to get a manual cuff and a cheap stethoscope. It's easy to do.

I got one at Costco for $50. I take readings am and pm. Systolic was always between 135-142 which is quite high. I’ve managed to drop it to high 120s but still want it lower.

I’ve started taking potassium citrate powder. I don’t have exact numbers, cuff broke, but you can feel it take effect.
