Yes, Insulin is RX only in the U.S.

Cost depends upon your insurance policy, if applicable. Self pay, I have no idea.

IIRC you can get the long acting without a Rx.

Really???

I never would've guessed. I suppose I should know what I'm talking about before I speak. My bad!

Pretty dumb but only humalin r and humalin n is otc in America. Two of the hardest insulin’s to use. Where as the safest and easiest for diabetics to use and manage their bg levels with log and lantus are script only.

You can go to any pharmacy and get humalog OTC for about 25-40. As brock said, you have to be very careful. Its not fast acting so you need to make sure you monitor your levels for a longer period of time. As with any insulin, do you homework and make sure you have glucose near you at all times. Maybe a snickers and a Gatorade too.

wondering why you would want lantus? as many above said, fast acting is RX, you can get a little longer released OTC but not sure on the lantus/levimir as they are long acting but not sure why would be looking for that unless you need it for diabetes.

Some guys like using lantus. less of a peak.. pin it in the AM and go on about your day.. If you feel yourself going hypo then, you get your sugars in. l

here's a video to watch with Colette Nelson - Don't mind her lip liner. I don't know what's going on with that.

I can attest to this. Tried long acting last year. Didn’t monitor glucose like Mo suggested (great suggestion btw...just too lazy to do it). I was in a bulking phase so I erred in the side over over eating and that, combined with constant hunger, lead me to being the fattest I had been in four years. Phenomenal workouts, incredible pumps, but from wouldn’t do it again. Fat that goes on must come off and that misery out weighed the benefits I got.

Posting as a cautionary tale and to say there isn’t a lot of room for a margin of error.

Nothing scary about it. Dietary protocols are simple enough and if you're not disciplined enough to follow it you probably should rethink using any anabolics. You can get into big trouble very quickly, sure, but again if you do what your supposed to you won't.

And DK is right. You can get really fat really fast. So, damn man, there's that word discipline again......

30 years in the gym. Still never found a need to use slin personally. There again, I haven't found a need to use DNP either. Both have risk to reward ratios that are greater than I want to take.

I prefer the slower approach.

With that said, I have seen the results of those who use both of those properly and they are amazing.
