lot's of lunges, heavy hack squats(using different foot positions and going low), heavy leg presses are my top 3.

I dont train legs. I've had 3 knee surgeries and need a replacement now so walking is painful enough.

I also dont wear shorts so I'd say that's been most beneficial for my leg development....

I do squats on leg day but don't really consider them a leg specific exercise per se.

It's all about the core for me on these guys and I feel overall stronger when I have a solid squat game. Will they build your legs to epic proportions? Maybe, but doubtful.

Focused leg extensions and a heavy sled will do that just fine.

Squats trump all in leg development. Every one who picked an alternative or said there was something better, just picked a variation of squat lol. Hack squats, belt squats, pendulum squats, all Squats. You donít need to be under a barbell, but some form of squat should definitely be done! Also like stated before, you donít need to be squatting a shit ton of weight.

Yes lifters can build large quads without squats. That doesn't mean you shouldn't squat. Lol. If you're not growing bigger legs with the squat you're doing it wrong. That's all there is to it.

Most people should squat. You'd be hard pressed to find a better exercise than the squat. And when it comes to getting stronger? There is no other exercise that can build head to toe strength as well as the squat. Deadlifts being right there as well.

When it comes to the weight room, squats should be in everyone's training program no matter a person's goal.

The smaller your legs, the bigger your upper body looks!
