Yeah Skull, if you do use them, I would save it for when the weight gets heavy where the limiting factor is your grip. I wouldn't use straps the sets leading up to that point.
You want to work grip, pick up a heavy ass bar and hold it as long as you can.
Also loved straps for RDLs, I always found it easier to connect when grip wasn't an issue.
That's kind of where I am at with Deadlifts. Also the only reason I stopped doing Snatch Grip High Pulls.
I might find a way to work on developing a stronger grip too.
Similar is my weight belt. I did not realize that lifting without it would help strengthen my core. So now I only use it for really heavy lifts.
