New guy here, but an old guy.

I'm Nico. Been around the boards for a long time. Underground Supplements, Renegade, Meso, Professional Muscle, Outlaw Muscle to name a few.
I've been using gear since 1983. I competed in olympic lifting for 25 years (retired now).
Just doing basic training to stay in shape and try not to damage the joints anymore.
I know a lot about training and gear. I may be able to answer some questions.
I'm leaning more towards the healthy side of gear (TRT-been using dr. prescribed for about 17 years).
Trying to stay heart healthy. I tend to follow threads on BP, prostate, cholesterol, RBC, hemoglobin, and hematocrit.

Welcome brother. Looking forward to learning from your experience. You’ve literally been using gear since I was in diapers!

You sound like an interesting guy. I remember the days when Olympic lifting was the main focus of the AAU, and bodybuilding was the side-show act at the end.

    Glad you’re here brother.

New guy here, but an old guy.

Welcome to the underground. My trainer’s incorporating power training into my routine.

Welcome, Nico, you are not the only old guy here. Your experience will be a real asset on the board ... looking forward to what you can offer us. Shit, I remember when Bob Hoffman was still alive and shooting for his goal of living in 3 centuries .......

(for you younger gymrats, living in 3 centuries is an unrealistic goal, but it is not an impossible goal if you were born very late in the 1st of the 3 centuries. Hoffman was The Man as far as organization, business, etc. in the strength / physique world before Weider, he was born in 1898, he missed his goal but not by much for a guy who was naturally big his whole life.)
Sloth is its own reward .......

I remember "Strength and Health" magazine, with Bob Hoffman and John Grimek. Always reported on the Olympic lifts and upcoming meets and results. Good bodybuilding articles too. Good stuff!

Thanx for the welcome. I have most of Bob Hoffman's books. My dad started lifting in 1945 and bought them. I also have Strength and Health mags from the 50's. What a collection.

Sorinex is an equipment manufacturer similar to Rogue that gets less mention on the boards though. They will sell to individuals but seem to mostly target universities and pro teams, which may account for their low visibility on the boards. Founded by Richard Sorin, who is probably about 70yo now. HE grew up in the Hoffman era and occasionally mentions Bosco, the mythical strongman with the handlebar mustache, in online Sorinex material and has a handlebar-shaped logo on some of his equipment.

nico, you may be Sorin's baby brother from a different mother ......
