I can tell you that I snored less and practically stopped when I dropped weight. Now Im bulking again and started snoring a little but according to my girlfriend that stopped since I started GH two weeks ago. Never slept better.

It's a sign of potential sleep apnea, the added weight can increase your mallampati score, or adjust you airway to a more restrictive pathway, basically causing more obstruction

I snore like a bear, wife hits me all night long. Yes, weight increase definately contributes. When I was under 200lbs I was silent, now 230lbs I shake the house!

    Re: Snoring

I have a CPAP machine. I got it because my wife didn't like my snoring. It took a LONG time to get used to it, now I take it when I travel on my own as I sleep SO much better. And my sleep apnea score is really almost normal. If you snore when you're heavier it's almost always sleep apnea - in other words your airways get blocked and you wake repeatedly because you suffocate.

I heard that if you elevate the headboard of your bed 1 or 2 inches it will help make you stop snoring. Something to do with the fluid in your body not sitting the way that it does. I think that it would be worth a try, never know it could actually work!

    Re: Snoring

Went to the doc about snoring, she said lose weight or I'll send you for sleep study...and "they will call it sleep anea". Basically, heavy snoring gets labled sleep apnea. I may go get the Darv Vader mask, some nights wife sais I'm not breathing!

I have snored before and then not. I think it is contingent on body fat and not muscle. 215 at 18% = snoring, but 240 at 14% = no snoring
