I just wanted to see what everyone thinks about Sauna's??? There are times when after my workout I'll get in the sanua for about 10 min's. Maybe one-two times a week . Now, I've had brothers tell me I shouldn't because you need the water for your joint's,and then some say its not a problem. Any thouhgts???

Lets not over complicate life. If you like the sauna, go for it.

I don't like the sauna, I would rather stay hydrated.

I'd rather stay hydrated as well. But if there was a sauna for all of SI to go into, I'd be the first one in there. ;)

I couldn't sit in a sauna. If you over flush your body with water and watch what you eat there is no reason to.

I used to hit the sauna all the time. Problem was after a workout, and then a sauna, I was too spent the rest of the day.

I really don't see it as a problem with hydration that a big drink of water won't cure.

As long as your drinking water it shouldn't be an issue.

I drop enough water training, that alone is a recovery in itself. I won't pull more water out by going wet or dry sauna.

I use the dry Sauna on leg day and back day to help with DOMS.
I like the sauna but make damn sure you drink plenty both in the sauna and afterwards.
When I first started going in after my workouts I dehydrated and during a workout got dizzy and fell down after a pretty hard set.
I felt like a total dork and it was totally due to the drop in blood pressure from getting up after a hard set of leg presses and dehydration from the three sauna visits prior that week. Only one person saw me and I threatened to kill them if they told anyone.... and you know what? I'll kill you if you tell anyone too!!! :tren:

Respect and hydration,
Vette

I hate saunas. Cant stand the dry heat. But I'm a big fan of the steam room after a workout. Also if I feel I'm comin down with a cold I'll skip lifting and lay in the steam room with some eucalyptus oil. Shit is great!!!
