    Sharps Container

Just curious, how many of you use a container to dispose of your used needles, or just say **** it, and in the trash it goes?

    Re: Sharps Container

No, I use a sharps container. I use an old whey protein powder container, pins go directly in there and those 5 lb. containers will fill up for a while, once it's full I duct tape the lid and write "SHARPS" all around it and throw it out.

    Re: Sharps Container

I don't use a sharps container. Instead, I use a big thick plastic jug, like juice or something. then i pour a little milk in there right before I throw it away, so it rots and stinks and no one will try to reuse any needles.

    Re: Sharps Container

I personally use a detergent container then duct tape the top when Its 3/4th full and write SHARPS all over it then just throw it away. You can do this with protein powder containers like mentioned above... Just please for the love of god dont use a milk jug or something with thin plastic... Then the needles will be all over that landfill. :]

I own a sharpy container also , when it's full I dump them in a empty milk gallon and tape the hell out of it and double bag it. I keep my sharPs container above the fridge where my kids can't reach.

You can check the website of your city or google for "city name + sharp disposal" and it will tell you what to do. Though if you duct tape it well, and write, "SHARPS" all over it, I assume it's generally safe enough to throw it out with your usual trash.

Here in New York we can dispose of needles in plastic bottles, jugs, basically anything with a lid and need to mark that it contains needles.
