Much respect to Cain - he's truly a gifted and dedicated athlete - but I think JDS wins this one in much the same fashion as their prior bout.

I'd like to see Cain drop to 205 Lbs and face Jon Jones.

Lots of talk about him cutting but remember he has a stable mate (former olympian) Daniel Dormier that could make that cut as well. That could be a factor. Im not for him cutting Like Heavy said hes destroyed everyone but JR.

Cain is my favorite. I would like to have seen him get about 20 fights before he got here to the show. Remember he is still relatively inexperienced. His trainers use to complain that they couldnt get anyone in the smaller shows to fight him.

gonna be a good fight! I think a lot of people under estimate JDS though.

Forgot about Cormier - great point there re: Cain NOT making the cut to LHW. Cormier is another bloke with KO power in both hands and the wrestling experience to keep the fight standing if he so chooses. Cormier / Jones would be an entertaining fight. Jones' reach could be a problem, could force Cormier to take the fight to the ground where we've not seen Jones severely tested before.

    Re: Cain Velasquez.

I've heard rumors that Jones is looking to make the move to heavyweight sometime in the next couple years. He walks around at 230-235 and is having an increasingly difficult time making the cut. So you might get that fight, but it won't be at Lt. Heavy. I still think you guys are underestimating just how hard it would be for Cain to make the cut to 205. He would lose a lot of strength/power.

Here's an old fight in Junior's early career where he showcases some skills that we haven't seen much in his UFC career. Keep in mind that this guy he's fighting, Joaquin, was wrecking everyone and was heavily favored coming into this fight. Junior throws multiple leg kicks, knees, and displays some raw but still athletic wrestling moves.

    Re: Cain Velasquez.

Great video, SAD! That's the most thai I've ever seen Junior display. His opponent didn't appear to have the first clue as to how to defend those low-line kicks, and JDS still displayed wrecking-ball power in his overhand right (the one that starts the fight set the tone). No doubt he's amazingly agile for a HW. Cheers!

Cain is a bad Mofo for sure. Any ideas on who he'll match up with for the next bout?

Overoid is the only non injured HW that I can think of for a title shot.

What a warrior. Can't imagine taking shots on a freshly broken jaw, let alone trying to generate any offense of my own. Great fight!

Absolutely amazing. I'm at a loss for words to describe the heart he displayed.

And that would be a great fight, but I truly think that Stefan Struve is one big win away from deserving a title shot. Whether or not he gets it is questionable, but the guy is one of the most talented heavyweights in the UFC.

Actually just read the link you posted BigGame and it said they confirmed that Junior did NOT break his jaw. Still, he showed remarkable perseverance.

Got a chance to spend some time with Cain he was training in the same boxing gym my nephew trains, same gym Victor Ortize and a few other pro boxers train. Anyways long story short this guys is a class act a really nice guy, he deserves the success he is having.
