Ontario home invasion leads to major Anabolic steroid operation
Ontario, At 11:00 pm February 13th, 2013 the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a single family dwelling on Deerfield Parkway in Thorold in response to a reported home invasion.
Initial investigation revealed that two armed men broke into the home and confronted two male occupants. The occupants were able to call Police, but the suspects fled prior to Police arrival.
In the process of clearing the residence police discovered evidence of an illicit drug manufacturing operation in the basement of the house. The house has been secured pending judicial authorization for authorities to re-enter the house to conduct further investigation.
The two male suspects fled the area in a dark colored vehicle. The two occupants of the house have been detained pending further investigation.
It is anticipated that this will be a lengthy investigation and the residence itself will be secured by police until the investigation is complete. Police believe this was not a random act and the residence and occupants were targeted by the suspects.
