I understand your frustration. I feet the same way.I mostly agree but it is so hard watching real life Idiocracy happen in front of your eyes. It truly feels like you're in a fucking airplane about to crash and can't do a thing about it. My daughter's school took away advanced math because the volunteer, a fucking volunteer, The largest school district in the state needs a volunteer for math who comes in and teaches the children during the regular math was needed more for kids who were behind the national average in 5th grade. Luckily I teach her when she gets home. But the school solution was to give them a website that they could go to during their free time at school!
I'm 100% dictator in my home. It's my way or the highway. My kingdom starts at my front yard. If I have young teens in my home they follow my commandments, or it the highway.
It's a slippery slope. If people you disagree with are in a position to tell you right from wrong, I have a feeling you won't like it.
In short I tell my 16 yo what he can do under my roof, but I'm not going to tell you what to do in you home.
Australia isn't an example to use. Didn't they drastically limit gun ownership? I'm not an expert on Australia. But one thing I know is I don't want either Rachel Maddow on the left or any of the wingnuts on the right telling me what to think or do.
