When doing barbell bicep curls the shorts above in my gym has fixed plates so if I want to increase the weight from 20 kg I have to go to 25 kg

What would your advice be to help increase through the next weight or should I just add more reps

As an example:

If you are doing 12 reps per set with 20kg but can do only 8 to 10 reps with 25kg, stick with 25kg until you can do all sets in reps of 12, than move up in weight again and repeat.
