I began lifting in high school where a class called “advanced PE” was offered. We ran 2x a week and the rest of the time we could hit the weight room. In the weight room we were all brothers. Dorks, jocks, and anyone else who just wanted to lift. Whatever your level, you were welcomed despite social standing or click. I was hooked on the iron game from that moment.
Once I got done with HS there was this new thing out there called MMA. Needless to say I got into that heavy. Still was lifting, just not trying to get massive anymore. I beat the heck out of my body as I wanted to go pro (paying for this now). Time went on and regulators cracked down on MMA and it faded. This was in early 2000s I believe. I was in college at this point so went back to lifting heavy between classes as my schedule permitted. This is when I really got huge. Topped out at 212 lbs on a 5’8” frame. Full fireplug.
Life did what it does best, and goals and priorities changed. So now I am at 170 lbs and want to build back what I can as I enter my 50s. I do not want to be one of those guys that “slows down”. Gonna push it until I am dead. Figured I would get back on the boards and see what new things my old ass can learn. New nutrition, protocols, routines, and injury recovery.
Hoping to not just lurk and can share some knowledge at some point. Sorry for the long introduction. I just did not want to post some lame ass short thing that said; “Hi, I am new here…..”
