My fasted glucose runs a little high when I first wake up. 100-110 typically. But the rest of the day I’m very good, so I don’t worry too much about it.

However, I recently started back on low dose GH. I’ve been taking a subQ shot of 2iu around 4am when I get up to pee. I have noticed that when I get up for the day, around 6am, my fasted BG has been running around 80, give or take a couple points.

im happy to see those numbers, but I always thought if anything GH would have a negative impact on BG readings.

Anybody know how that works?

He explains it @23:11

here is the transcript:

you are going to have a rise in blood sugars when you take your HGH because it's going to cause fatty acid liberation and your body is going to start burning fatty acids for fuel and glucose will not be disposed of as easily and that will cause a corresponding rise in blood sugar.

so ideally you would like to be in some sort of fasted state or low carbohydrate state when you take your hgh and when is a better time to do that as a bodybuilder when you are sleeping so if you want to keep your glucose under control I would take it at night. I think that makes the most sense your body makes its own natural HGH in a pulsatile function so taking it at night probably makes the most sense

He said GH will cause a rise in BG. I’m experiencing lower blood glucose after taking it. That’s why I made this post. It goes against what I’ve heard many times

I didn't understand. I thought you meant how it works in general.

Nobody can give you an answer to why you are experiencing something different than the common experience.

I'd want more data points.

I'd start with how are you measuring your levels? finger prick?

if you really want to dig in you need something like a lingo cgm

  • KNOW THE IMPACT OF WHAT YOU EAT: The Lingo biosensor measures your glucose response to food, exercise, and other lifestyle factors, then streams the data directly to your phone 24/7. The Lingo app then translates the data into insights you can use to build new habits
  • ACCURACY YOU CAN RELY ON: The biosensor monitors your glucose via a tiny filament that sits just below the skin. Whereas some sensors refresh every 15 minutes, the Lingo biosensor streams real-time updates every minute of every day

If you're doing a long GH run, monitor your Hgb A1C. It will give you a better overall picture vs snapshot in time.

You're only using a replacement dose. Much of what you hear/read pertains to higher doses.

What is your IGF-1 level on that dose.

Great question
On 4iu it was 419
I’m not staying at 2iu, titrating back up. GH with test caused my gyno to grow. I started all over now with just nandrolone and GH. Gyno will probably still grow but I’m giving it a shot just to see.

Upped to 4iu
BG still reading low.

I eat the same foods every day, so it’s not that. I monitor my BG regularly

Generally, HGH causes the liver to produce more glucose (through gluconeogenesis) and can reduce the effectiveness of insulin, which can lead to higher blood glucose levels, especially at higher doses.

Im just speculating but first thought is maybe something to do with the “dawn effect” where blood sugar rises in the early morning hours. Perhaps either the fact that when you get up to pee youre staying awake a bit longer to do your gh shot is enough to kick the blood sugar rise in earlier in the morning, then by the time youre actually waking up, the blood sugar rise had gone back down, compared to before you were waking up early to do gh shot. Or maybe the gh shot gives you enough of a blood sugar rise that your body is then releasing insulin to bring back down the blood sugar and similar to other situation, when youre actually waling up and checking later on, the blood sugars have been cleared out.
Either way I would do a hba1c test and also fasting insulin test with blood work 3-4x a year and put more emphasis on those rather than transient blood sugar levels from a monitor
