well i have started a new workout program in which every fourth chest day i lift like a power lifter. i took the bar out of the rack by my self, held it, brought it to my chest (not resting it) counted to 3 and pressed it, locked it out and then re racked, worked up to 305. felt pretty good for the 1st time, with a lift off i know i can add 20 lbs and some elbow sleeves another 10, i think. getting ready for the local contest in aug or sep.

Big difference when you have to pause it right? A lot of people don't realize that. My meet PR is only 340 and its because of the pause (and my dog shit benching technique lol)...

i remember being 14 and watching my friend show me how he paused on the bench. i called it BS and never did it.

by 17 the guy was repping out 405 on the incline with pauses like it was nothing... he was a total freak of nature, though. Dont know what his highest flat bench ended up being but it worked for him.
