This has always bothered me and I don't have the answer for it. How can we get members (mostly noobs) to post better thread questions?

There are millions of examples but in general, they go like this:

Help! I can't lose any weight.
No information provided on diet or exercise. No body stats, no goals, are we talking 5 lbs or 50 lbs.

4 weeks into my cycle and nothing.
Nothing about what compounds are use, duration, or dosage. And again, no stat.

Can't get my (fill the blank) to grow.
No layout of existing training and forget about diet information. How about some history?

I think most guys here like to help out their brothers but I personally find it had to do so when the OP wont take the time to put together a decent thread. Anyone have any ideas how to address this?

Maybe admins can make up a questionnaire and format it to where they have to answer certain questions in the boxes? You know that the majority of noobs are young. And these days, the young need to be spoon-fed and don't want to put effort in.

I understand your frustration. When the OP provides no background information it is impossible to give an informed answer, so the informed members will remain silent leaving the thread to be dominated by the ignorant-- which is even more frustrating.

I personally don't like playing 20 questions with a noob to get information in order to give an informed opinion. Too much work for me and I don't really care enough to do it. I guess that is what paid trainers are for.

As a noob I think dumb questions are bound to happen but the examples you gave aren't dumb. They show a lack of research, preparation, and basic knowledge.

As for how to help maybe links to articles for them to piece it together themselves.

Personally, I don't like helping people who haven't attempted to help themselves

You may be onto something!

If this thread gets good, I'll Stickie it in the New Members area.
No one reads the stickies. lol Maybe we could make a stickie saying something like, When posting about (fill in the blank) please include ...... to help members help you. If nothing else, it's a sticky to refer them to when they don't add the important information.

I don't know, maybe an example or something formatted like Dex was referring to?

I think everyone asking for help should imagine they are describing a car problem to their mechanic.

You aren't going to your mechanic and saying "can you make my car do better?"

Give us the details of the car. Make, model, engine size. What is the specific problem? Is it making a sound? Is it shaking? What have you already tried to fix it? Is money an object? When do you need the car back from the mechanic? Do you have an upcoming car show?

Agreed 100% N 11 but how do we get that across?

If it’s not a well thought out question. It’s a waste of your time. The fact is most green guys don’t stick around.

Example the vegan that wants to build muscle. 😂😂

Should I waste my time & make him a meal plan? Nope he won’t even read it.

I'm not sure you should be giving any diet advice.

I might just keep the link to this thread handy then, and post it when someone new asks a dumb question.

If they choose to read it, they'll fix the issue. If not, then their question goes unanswered.

It would be cool if they had to fill out a help request form that includes the needed info.

Then if it could post at the top of anything else they may have to say.

The way the forum is laid out is good but then there would need to be help request forms for diet, training, cycle, etc.
