When I was driving home today I was thinking about this topic and thought I would post it .. plus I am very interested to hear my brothers feedback here ...
How would you rate your gym effort today (or at your last workout) ... I am not actually meaning your intensity level in any one particular exercise - set - or even rep.
I mean sitting down afterwards ... how would you rate your workout effort on a 1 - 10 scale (10 being highest).
I would give myself a 7 today ... and I am thinking that is a good number for me. I missed a few months earlier this year .. and have been back at it for about 4 weeks.
My intention through the rest of this year is to be far more consistent that previous years (I am doing my best to channel Snake) ...
I am not going to the gym with the intention of lifting the most (for me) or taking most sets to failure (although a few do reach failure) ... I am intending to do excellent form and full range of motion .. while perform under (beneath) what I would call an all out effort.
What is effort rating and your strategy that best explains it?
