My mom has a scarf from him that he threw into the crowd at one of his shows. It still has the sweat stains on it. I like some of his movies.

He truly was the King. He comes from a era of musicians that actually had to be able to carry a tune. Nowadays there are computers and vocal synthesizers that hide the fact that they can't sing.

My mom cried too. My family was watching tv when the breaking news of his death came across. You would've thought her brother died. I have to admit, he was a great singer and enjoy listening to his music even today..

Many Many bands got great doing his songs. His songs are so covered by other bands and people have no clue but I gave a clue to a few in this thread.

Something that gets lost in conversation with the King is his character. How many of todays singers with Elvis' status would honor their draft card and go fight in a war like Elvis did? One of a kind.
