Aprox 3 mo's ago i was warming up to do chest with a cpl 25's on a smith doing inclines. I usually do 2 or 3 sets of really lite just to get blood flow. Iv been lifting for almost 40 yrs, im 60, 215lbs,6ft. I let my weight come down gradually over the last 6 or 7 yrs from 245 (aprox 5 or 6% bf) My 1st 10 yrs i was clean and ran gear for the next 23. Currently 250mgs t.e. weekly. So in my 2nd warmup set it felt like all my strength just gave out and seemed in that moment to come from my upper right chest area. I literally could'nt lift the bar and for context i easily went up to 200+ on working sets but was stuck under 60lbs. I ended the workout and with no actual pain but decide to do a wait n see. Next day thru the week i began to feel pain in my shoulder, It continued to get worse and worse. 3 mo's later with no workouts since i am in pain 24/7. Im thinking now its in the tendon/ligament. Time doesnt seem to be healing this one. I dont have med ins so not spoken to Dr and thus no xray. Anyone got anything simular or just a little insight ?

Without knowing what's going on under the hood (xray at a minimum, ideally more resolution like MRI but very $$$$) its a guessing game but it certainly does not sound good, and definitely an indication that a doctor is needed, get checked out and go from there, it's not cheap but the longer it goes on the harder it may be to remedy and ultimately the more expensive it could become in the long term.

Dude, what the hell are you fucking around for? Go get an MRI and see if you tore something in there.

Nobody on the internet is going to be able to diagnose your injury.

Sorry to be so blunt, but...

Is this the first time in your life with this kind of pain?

I have tendonitis in both shoulders. When it's acting up, not only does it affect my workout; it affects my sleep as it's like a toothache pounding in my shoulders. Mine is age and wear. Yours was sudden and could be a tear. As CJ said, no one can diagnose this on a forum. Your only recourse is medical intervention.

Mine is like this as well. Sometimes it gets so bad that I can't even pull a 2 liter bottle out of the fridge without excruciating pain.

For me it was frozen shoulder, but I still have lingering effects. Working a desk job for 28 years where I roll my shoulders certainly made it even worse over time. I have to sleep in certain positions, keep shoulders back in my day to day activities, and be very aware of my form to avoid aggravating it.

My frozen shoulder took over a year to heal on its own. It was a pretty depressing time.

go to ortho. Get steriod injection and go back to lifting. Then get an mri.

I think this is his problem with that.

I hear this a lot, no coverage or a deductible that will clear out what little savings they have.

Just an idea. Won't fix anything that's completely torn but it does help if it's just alignment.

I'm good now; I just continue to practice everything I did to help myself get healed (posture, sleeping position, form, etc). I rarely have an issue anymore as long as I stay on top of that.

May want to find a way to scrape the money together to start paying for insurance if the situation doesn't get better. And you want to fix the issue. At your age there are places that help those that can't afford medical help.
When i tore muscles off the bone it did not hurt but i did feel a snap. The pain came later. And got worse over time.
