I had a great day at the gym today! Or so I thought. The rack I usually use was tied up, and the rack next to it was coming free. They guy had been dead lifting, and that's what was on my plan for the day, so I just told him I could take it as it was, no need to put the plates away. We were both happy. I took some weight off, did my warm up and put the working weight on the bar. It was a new high, and it was hard for sure but I felt it was going very well. Okay, when I broke it down, I realized the bar felt light. I weighed it, and later the bar on the rack I usually use.
The one I always use came out just about 45 pounds as expected. The other was like 12 pounds lighter. I thought a standard Olympic bar is 45 pounds. Why is there a 33 pound bar?
