hey guys,

I lost 30 pounds since june 2024 utilizing a combination of keto diet and using a mostly carnivore diet. I have stalled for 6 weeks. So, I upped my calories to raise my basal metabolic rate and have gained only 4 pounds to 198 pounds now. I had little energy and little energy and now i feel better.

Now, I think it's time to restart my carnivore diet. If I start my carnivore diet in a caloric deficit as before, then hopefully i will continue as before. This time, if my weight loss shows no progress for more than a week, then i could utilize t3 along with an enhanced TRT+ program of 150 Test C, 100 Deca, and 100 Primo wihich might allow me to keep muscle whilst cutting.

What do you guys think?
Any advice or anecdotal experience is appreciated. Thanks!

I lost some weight on it. I think it possibly helped to get some insulin resistance down. I've been told it mimics fasting when one has zero carbohydrates and also gets rid of junk in cells, damaged organelles in cells like ifefficient mitochondria, and creates new mitochondria, which makes the body more efficient. I am going by some information by Dr. Jason Fung, Dr. Berg, and Mindy Peltz via YouTube. Anyway, it worked for me as far as weight loss. I think it helps to control hunger and over eating.

I used to eat this way. Wish I had listened sooner about why it may not have been the best path.

You can absolutely lose weight on it, on any diet that's in a calorie deficit. I think you'd do better with carbs, though, as you've experienced the lack of energy for yourself. Without carbs your workouts/training aren't going to be great, and you're probably shooting yourself in the foot.

As for the health benefits of fasting, a carnivore diet absolutely does NOT mimic that. And there's a lack of nutrients in a carnivore diet, so again I feel as though you're making this harder than it needs to be.

A calorie deficit and/or exercise does wonders to improve insulin sensitivity, as does simply losing fat, it's not the carnivore diet.

If you really want improved mitochondrial function and density, the way to do that is a god amount of Zone 2 cardio, with a little Zone 4/5 intervals sprinkled in.

You're an adult, do what you want, but boy are you making it hard on yourself.

I wish carnivore or strict keto worked for me. But my performance in the gym just goes to straight chet.

As far as fasting goes, i couldn’t tell any difference spreading the same amount of calories across the entire day or packing them into a 4 hr window.
