Hello everyone, 30 years old and feeling it. I used to be pretty athletic and I stupidly played around with clen, dbol, cyp, and didn’t have a clue no pct at all. That was probably around 24 and ever since I’ve noticed I’m less motivated and on the wrong side of 250lbs. I changed my diet from see food (I see it I eat it) about 1 year ago hoping to see a difference (1600cal daily) no noticeable changes, still bouncing around 250.

I have a pretty high stress job, mix of computer time and standing. I’m wanting to get back in the gym but man I get HUNGRY when I do and I usually stop when I see the scale climbing.

Just trying to get healthy before I start looking at bulking, I’m wondering if I messed up my balance by being a dumb fuck or if that’s even a permanent issue.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

ever since I’ve noticed I’m less motivated and on the wrong side of 250lbs.
those two things are unrelated.
you could get some baseline labs and see exactly where you're at to prove it to yourself.

changed my diet
1600cal daily
no noticeable changes
that's because you were eating/drinking more than 1600 calories per day.

wondering if I messed up my balance
no

if that’s even a permanent issue
that's not a real thing. it's a myth.

a great place to start is take the next three days and enter in every single thing you eat and drink into a free calorie counting app.

(cronometer, MyFitnessPal, fatsecret, nutritionix, Lose It)

this will give you an idea of how many calories on average per day you consume to maintain your weight at 250lbs.

once you have that number eliminate 500 calories per day to start (get 250g of protein daily as a minimum) how you arrive at the rest is a matter of personal preference.

How is your training set up?

How much cardio are you doing per day?

welcome to the UG

Do I just ask to run labs or do I ask for something specific?

I meant right now I’m eating about 1600 cal a day. I’ve been using a calorie tracking app. Before I was eating whatever. For a year I’ve been eating 1600 - 2500 on average. Probably more on occasion but not frequently. The lower days are when I’m too busy to take lunch.

Glad to hear I didn’t destroy myself, man 250g of protein is tough to hit I was consistently at 130g, Cottage Cheese in the morning, Turkey for Dinner. I can pick up some whey isolate to get to that 250g. Maybe meal replacing on lunch since I rarely have time anyway.

Thank you for the advice

Using tapatalk and I can’t figure out how to edit my reply, no cardio right now. Foot is healing from an injury a few weeks ago, should be back to normal soon, before that though nothing either.

No training set up, like I said I tend to eat more when I train and I’m trying to lose weight not bulk, maybe low weight high rep? I thought I knew what I was doing a while back but I was in the army and working out all the time while in training so “prison fit” if you will.

this is not necessary. but if you are curious about how you have recovered from your previous experiments, you can find out.

IDK if you live in one of the states that don't allow this.

2. Dinner: Include 1 cup of broccoli or green beans alongside your chicken and sweet potato.

There's no way you're only eating 1600 Cals and not losing weight, unless you're literally sitting all day long.

Mostly yeah or standing. Teaching doesn’t usually have much movement.

My gf is a teacher, she doesn't stop moving.

Go for walks, be active. It's healthy for you. How many steps per day are you doing?

Not all teaching jobs are the same so it’s not logical to compare my job to hers. I usually pace while lecturing but some days are more administrative heavy. I’m getting around 5-10k a day. Again, some days are very admin heavy. I was sitting in meetings for 3 hours Friday.

I do yard work 1/2 acre(leaf blowing, brush removal, push mower, weedeating), clean the house, go grocery shopping daily.

I am 68, more than twice your age, but I have managed to lose 50lbs this year by diet and exercise - no drugs. Biggest diet sacrifice: no more fried foods or alcohol. Best weight loss exercise: 45 minutes on the treadmill wearing ankle weights.

Then unless your thyroid is not functioning properly, I'm willing to bet that you have an error in your calorie/macro tracking.

Yes, something just isn't making sense. Have you been to a doctor lately? I can't imagine how 1,600 calories per day and a minimum of 5k steps doesn't result in shedding pounds. How was your metabolism in the past? Thirty is young, and you should still feel that way; young. I'm 60 and with a small adjustment in my caloric intake, I can shed some pounds when needed.
