Some people love him, while others hate him.

He is a very interesting figure. He makes a product that liberals love, yet those same liberals hate his conservative views.

He claims to be doing more for climate change than any other person on earth.

Some people love him buying Twitter and turning it into a bastion of free speech. Others hate him for it.

Some love his promotion of hard work. Others say he is a weirdo for demonizing vacations and saying people should work 100 hours per week.

How do you feel about him? And why?

He's an elite class fat-cat, who to his credit has had some unique ideas in terms of businesses, as well as, his business philosophies often to the detriment of his working staff. His success however is not attributed to his hard work but instead to his extremely wealthy, connected and privileged family. While he claims to not have received financial input from his emerald mine owning parents in South Africa, and sure "maybe" that is true, he has benefited from their connections in the business and capital world to a high degree, far more than any average person could or would. Rich people know other rich people and those networks are insulated from the plebs.

This is also compounded by the myths generated that have claimed he's an engineer (despite not being one) or he has done more for climate change than anyone else (without any proof to back up such a claim). One thing you find among the wealthy is the ability to drive narrative and create mythologies for themselves. He is no different than any aristocracy level person, just to the highest level as he is top of the shit (money) heap.

I neither love him nor hate him, what I dislike is the glorification of him. If there is one thing I have found being around extreme wealth it is that the only thing they care about is preservation and growth of that wealth and glorification of their accomplishments, nothing else, they want to win the game and the object of the game is "more" so in terms of his "philanthropy" it is purely PR.

Agreed, more or less.

He seems to appeal to the same demographic(s) as Joe Rogan

I.E.: He's the dumb guy's smart guy.

To be fair, I think people can simply enjoy Joe Rogan's podcast without idolizing him as a person. He has some interesting guests and conversations, regardless of his personal limitations.

Because he has the #1 podcast in the world and people wrongly thinks that means HE knows what he's talking about beyond subjects other than MMA.

Fear Factor is one of the dumbest shows ever. I actually loved it back then, but I was 11-12 at the time.

He's a needy, attention seeking dipshit who claims other people's work as his own. He's not a genius, at best he's a venture capitalist in a way.... Only difference is that he buys the companies instead of investing for a smaller stake in them.

There's a lot more to how I feel about him.. I'll just say I hope he goes to mars and never makes it back. Hope he takes Zuckerberg with him.
