Yes, because chicken BREAST is very lean. Less of the weight is fat content. Thighs and wings are very different

An 8 ounce portion of a particularly fatty piece of beef might only be 40 grams, for example.

Other very lean meats are pork tenderloin, white fish, and 99% lean ground turkey.
I disagreed with you... let's fight now! 😂

looked at a few other food database sites, that use different sources for their data. 52g for 8oz of raw chicken breast seems to be consistent across all of them. 🤷‍♂️

Now I'm really curious what source had 8oz raw as 60. The only thing I can think of is that CJ is taking 240g (8 ounces) and dividing by 4 calories (cals per gram of protein) and coming up with 60g.

Keep in mind not all 240g is protein, that'd be near impossible. Some is water weight that gets lost during cooking, there's also roughly 1g of fat in there which would automatically force protein to be 58g at most (ignoring water weight).

Just general ballpark numbers I've always used:

Really lean meats were 30g per 4 ozs
Average meats were 25g per 4 ozs
Fatty meats were 20 g per 4 ozs.

And I'm insulted by your 240÷4 nonsense!!! 🤣

*I guess I could be wrong, so 🖕

@oilfeildtrash ignore the noise about how many grams of protein are actually in 8oz of chicken breast. I'm just having a little fun.

I think everyone can agree that consistently tracking food is priority #1. Do that and the rest will kind of sort itself out on its own.

0 meat, 0 eggs, 0 fish every day for 10 years already. There's enough protein in low fat cheese, milk products and protein shakes. But two last months before my first competition my trainer asked to add fish and remove all milk products. That was not easy, but result was not bad.

I use skim milk as a carb and protein source. Not a focal point of my diet, but definitely a helpful x-factor nonetheless.
