Respect to any guy who can Pull the weights all of the big names do in comp, in the gym, filmed or semi-reliable word of mouth, gym shorts+tee shirt or the latest supportive gear, BUT, my mental frame of reference is to PL, and even to PL before all the different Feds complicated things.

Deadlifts used to all be done with the bar a standard height above the floor, and no wrist straps were allowed.

Hard to make a valid comparison between those early 800-900 Deadlifts done "back in the day" with the 1100s we marvel at today, and decide which was more impressive.

Sorry ... all us older farts used to walk to and from school each day too, in the snow, uphill both directions.

Instead of all the talk, Eddie Hall should just go ahead and attempt to do more than Thor in the same setting?
That would eliminate all the back and forth bullshit!

I still say the greatest lift in powerlifting history was Ed Coan 901 deadlift at 220 in a full power meet.

If guys nowadays are looking to break a world record in full power, they generally back off a bit on the other lifts. Not Ed.

He barely missed his 3rd attempt at that meet.

For some people (myself included) its harder to focus & perform on a stage in front of an audience.

Especially if its not something youve grown accustomed to.

If eddie had to do it outside his gym so should the next guy.

And livestream is not the same imo

for that reason im thinking its not fair.
