A Bethel man facing federal charges has reached a plea deal with prosecutors in what was termed as a large-scale drug ring by law enforcement officials.
Mark Mansa, 46, who was arrested in February on federal drug charges, is scheduled to appear before U.S. Judge Vanessa L. Bryant on Nov. 16 to enter a new plea in the case, as per court records.

Prosecutors said Mansa operated a drug ring that distributed large quantities of marijuana for about four years and used his ties with people connected to organized crime and the Hells Angels to intimidate others.
Mansa is also the only member of the ring who is facing charges related to the distribution of anabolic steroids.
Federal prosecutors have said in court that Mansa was involved in steroid sales for nearly seven years and counted among his clients area high school athletes, as well as those in the bodybuilding industry.
The investigation into the drug ring included Danbury Police Department detectives and personnel from the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency.Mansa is also the only member of the ring who is facing charges related to the distribution of anabolic steroids.
