This dude is still a beast! He’s 58 and still fighting mma. He used to do 3500 push-up a day. Ha!! I try to do a minimum of 1500 a week, but can’t imagine 3500 in a day. Even though he was a cowboy for a minute he also played for my Eagles. So he gets a pass.

I remember hearing that back in the day when he was with the Cowboys. Also a shitload of pull ups and other BW exercises.

Show me a video of him doing 3500 push ups otherwise its bullshit....
Yeah, I would have to see it on video with a credible witness. I am not saying he doesn't but I am saying that I don't believe it.

Yeah rumor has it he did his exercises during commercials watching tv. It says he cut down to 1500 a day along with 2000 sit ups. Wtf? I could probably do a 1000 in one day.

In an interview with SI in the 80s and later in his biography, he said he used a deck of cards and did the number of push ups on the card. If you count the jokers give or take thats around 500.

idk man. any of the military people in here think about how many times u got smoked and the times u did PT then maxing those numbers for the APFT or whatever ur branch called the testing day. i'm sure there were easily days were i did well over 1k push ups just from that. and was still hitting the gym for chest days. and i ate like shit and had a lot more BF compared to him. now thinking of this man a ****ing legend if he actually trained like that for 30 years now or so. added in with some good ole juice. i'm honestly not to skeptical about 3500. it took a long time to get there, couldn't do it without the juice, and i'm sure it is a lot longer than just by the time " the average person wakes up to call sick for work"

I can do 1000 push ups in a few hours and I have the genetics of a polish holocaust survivor. What makes you think a super athlete, NFL hall of fame running back like Herschel Walker couldn’t achieve this? Anyone who is too young to remember the USFL needs to stfu!

Lol, he is 53 in this photo! 1390362F-2151-41C3-9A4B-3688FD8ADAA6.jpeg

30 push ups a minute, 1 minute rest, this would take almost 4 hours to complete. No one who isnt training for a sport would spend that much time on something as silly as pushups. Now I will agree he is a genetic freak but come on no one at his age or for that matter any age is going to waste hours on push ups.

Record for pushups in an hour is over 2800 currently. Most in a 24 hour period is 46,000; yes, 46k.

There’s video of the guy with the 2800 setting his previous Guinness record of 2200.

3500 in a day is still an unfathomable amount to me though!

He’s a beast I don’t doubt he can do that many push ups in a day, but everyday and maintain that I don’t see how that can be healthy for anybody. Your joints can only handle so much especially after the beating his body has taken. He’s in great shape and he was an elite athlete and is still a beast but I can’t see how a body can handle that volume...on the juice or not.

I did some crazy volume like that in the marines during special training schools and I handled it and I am no beast by any means so I believe he is capable of it but I don’t see it being done on a consistent basis everyday.

that’s crazy!! The record for pull ups In a set at marine corps recruit depot San Diego when I attended was 138 I thought that was the most insane thing I ever heard of but 46k push ups in a day tops that IMO.
