(Serious) Question about all the site solicitations

Noob here. Can anyone shed light on all the site solicitations? I know that sharing sources are a prohibited. So why do so many sites try to advertise knowing this isnt a source board? It seems like they genuinely want to sell their stuff but all the ones ive seen have been torn to shreds by the vets of the community. Yet they keep trying. Does anyone actually test them out to any end (yes or no, not asking which ones)? If not why do they keep trying?

theyre allowed to solicit in the promotion threads they dont get banend for that. it keeps them all quarantined in a section of the site that most active members dont care about. mods found it better to herd them into one area than try to keep them off the site entirely

Some of them have the notion that any communication is good communication because they're actively posting and their name is out there to be seen.

It takes quite a bit to get banned. Being a boring source that has no customers isn't grounds for a ban.
