Cliffs:

None of this matters if you are meeting the big picture criteria that is going to get you most of the way there (see below).

1) Train your ass off.

2) Stay fit and healthy. This can become a bottleneck if enhanced.

3) Properly manage your surplus, Do not get overly fat.

4) Prioritize your sleep and recovery.

5) If you use PED's escalate this over time.

If you are not doing these things it's not going to make much of a difference.

If you choose to carb cycle.

1) Don't go to the extremes. Don't overcomplicate it.

2) Based around extra expenditure in your training day.
Prioritize carbs pre and post workout. 40-50% is prioritized around the peri workout window.

3) On off days extra carbs come back to baseline intake.

Yep, it can help if a person is doing everything else right... but even with that I have always believed it's a drop in the bucket.

Some people operate at such a high level that the single drop in the bucket makes a big difference. I am not one of those people, and I doubt I'll ever operate at an elite level where it would make a significant difference for me.

I do think people should try it out at least once. I did, just because I wanted to experience if it was beneficial and decide if it was worth it for myself.

The conclusion I came to, for myself only, is that I think I saw some benefit; particularly when it came to BG levels, but the difference wasn't enough for me to want to deal with the hassle of changing how I eat from one day to the next.
