I just saw that there's going to be a meet down in Nashville with no classes, just judged by highest total.
It doesn't make since to me. So a 150lb guy would compete against a 300lb to see who can lift more? Is it just meant for big guys?

Sounds like it's meant to have fun.

This is the stupidest thing I've seen in awhile. There is nobody within 150lbs of Dan Bell when it comes to Raw powerlifiting. What's the point? Hope Dan gets hurt and somebody else wins on that day? Where's the competition, entertainment or theatrics in that?

I think that a meet based purely on WILKS with no classes would be fun.

This is clearly just meant to be a good time and not a serious competition.

Could be a way for beginners to get involved with the sport. Learning the "weigh-in", selection, waiting, commands, socialization, etc.

Thats what a local meet is for.

Now, if this meet allows open containers I think they would be on to something.
