I believe the RC tear wont heal on its own, so the question now is has anyone here experienced this and what do you do to work around it? i'm planning to work around the shoulders get rid of all the over head presses but still try to do incline and flat bench + lateral rises.

You have some decisions to make. You may not need to go under the knife since it's not a full rupture. If you go down that road, you have to shut your lifting down for awhile and rethink your movements in the gym as you go forward. The down time is going to suck regardless of which path you take. Sorry buddy.

Do you recall injuring it and if so, how?

yes

I could pull, just not push.

Lots of rows and row variations. Lots of squatting.

I would db press with a 5lb db in my injured arm's hand. Took about six months to do a push up.

any other q's just ask.
did it ever heal for you or u stuck doing 5lbs?

lots of wear and tear over 20 years of grind. both of my shoulders and elbows is full of severe arthritis as well... i think the fact my left elbow is full of arthritis the shoulder start to compensate and then went on to the right side.

don't know if it healed, never got another MRI.

I started with that 5lbs slowly added weight and after a year it was like it never happened.

I did the rehab exercises twice per day for most of that year and trained around

Be aware that not everyone will have the same results... and that RC will always be torn no matter what.

That doesn't mean it can't get stronger... Just didn't want you to think an RC tear will repair itself on its own.

Tears , ruptures and the such can heal enough or be worked around to continue lifting but in my experience the structure itself is not as stable the the wear and tear will accelerate and cause problems in other areas from compensation. That is the price we pay for the things we do.

Talk to the surgeon, he won't operate saying I'm too young for a shoulder replacement.
Talk to a different surgeon, opinions differ. I had mine replaced at age 52 and they would have done it sooner if i wanted. Disability decides need not age.

We spend our best years working and making money so that when we get older and have less ambition and abilities we can look at it in our old age...... go figure.

I had full tears of my supraspinatus and infraspinatus fixed and had a ruptured bicep repaired in the same surgery 23 years ago. And it is getting pretty worn out now. In a couple more years a repelcamant may be in my future for that shoulder. Already had the other replaced.

Ouch! Did it fully heal after the surgery, how's the range of motion? Strength?
