Hey folks!
Self intro:
Soon to be 36 year old married dude with a dog. Living in Asia (Taiwan) but I'm from the USA. Finishing up my PhD, teaching English on the side, bar hoppin' with the Mrs on the weekends.
My PhD is in a Humanities subject, so, unlike a science oriented PhD which is a lot quicker to do, this thing takes FOREVER (my advisor spent 11 years on his...I haven't been at it nearly that long luckily, about half that). But, being that my time is so split between family, teaching, finishing my PhD, presenting at conferences, publishing papers blah blah blah, I totally let my body slide for years.
But last year I made a decision to get in shape. My waist went down 4 inches, my biceps and upper arms got huge (in a god way) and I am just trucking along, liftin, plankin, doin cardio, eatin clean (except friday and saturday, those are whatever days) and things have been steadily progressing, so I guess its all working good. I probably got around 15lbs of fat still to lose, maybe less, and of course I just wanna continue building more and more muscle everywhere.
I spend probably a little more than 3 or so hours a day on my body now:
40mins: walking/jogging
1hr: either cycling or using my rowing machine
45 mins:lifting
1hr: meal prep
I also use Chinese medicine (yo, I live in Asia...and my PhD is related to that stuff) to aid weightloss and it has worked really well. Herbal remedies and catgut implantation (not real catguts, you can google that ifya want). My buddy, who is also American but lives here and is a Chinese Dr does it to himself with moxibustion.
Soya, thats me. Look forward to meetin yallz around here!
