I dance with the girl I came with but every now and then get bored and need something different. The last 2 weeks for bench I did some 10x10 with a 60 second rest. It's been a few years since I did this and forgot how heavy 165 can get. OMG, that's half of what I could double on a bad day.

You really have to check your pride at the gym door for this. Then again, I lift alone so the only one laughing was me. I will say, my tits are sore AF for 3 days after.

Anyone do this on a regular basis? I think I tried it once for squats and the only thing I got out of it was winded.

10 whole reps in a set? What the fuck is this, cardio day or something?

Nah, I've never done GVT. Seems to be a bunch of wasted sets and ruined recovery for small novelty training stumuli.

Tried it once, but it felt like too many warmup sets, and only a few tough sets with lighter weight. It took too long, also.

I quickly dismissed it as something that I would do regularly.

I like to do just one, four weight drop set. For bench I like 1 plate and 4 25’s per side. Warm up good. Then go to failure and have someone strip a 25. Failure again, strip a 25. And on and on til you hit failure at 135, which will feel light as a broomstick but quickly unliftable.

Its my 1 set bench routine.

Well I only do chest once a week, always have so I got plenty of time to recover.

Time wise, it does go a lot faster than my old school bench workout.

Not a bread and butter workout by any stretch but for what it's worth, sore AF.

Have done it in the past, mostly for legs. Best I ever got was was 10x10 at 405. Yes, it sucked balls.

That was my work out for a few weeks leading up to a 2 week paddle and portage canoe trip i took years ago. And i was still natural then. Got where it wasn't to bad.
The German volume training 10x10 was popular long ago. don't see it around much these days.
