Back on the outdoor running today without shins being the limiting factor. Did 5KM at steady pace, sat in the sun for a bit and then 1.5KM at a faster pace on the way back. Lifting wise managed a decent push session.

Honestly just buzzing to see a bit of sunshine and it set a nice vibe for the day. Massively looking forward to the summer time because my mood is always way better.

Had some good training going down this week. I competed in a mixed fitness event yesterday too, I did reasonably well but the limiting factor was actually the fact I get too pumped to function fully rather than my cardio.

The leg and glute pump from pushing the sled was obscene. But I got it done and had fun, kind of.

The cycle is ticking over nicely now - I’m halfway through. Before I compete at Hyrox in October I’m going to try to be at a cruise dose with maybe some Cardarine for 3 months leading up. Should let me maintain some strength without the pumps being too gross.

No hiking lately sadly. Just not had the time. But I am excited to get back out in the mountains and put the new found cardio gains to the test.

This was today - I didn’t even train upper, I had done legs and sprint intervals on the ski ERG and the pump was fucking bananas.

Morning UG.

@CJ I was supposed to be hiking tomorrow afternoon for a sunset peak but the weather forecast is awful. Looks like it’s going to get cancelled. :(

In other shitty news, seems like I’m having an IBD flare up of sorts this last week or so. Much more toilet activity than usual and the dreaded blood. Frustrating after being symptom free with no medication for over a year, hoping it’s just a phase.

I reduced the Var dose to 25mg to see if it helps my gut and will drop it out completely if it doesn’t. Still able to eat and train just fine, for now anyway. I’m going to be pissed if it saps my energy to the point where it impacts my training because I’ve been flying lately. Cardio is the best it’s been, strength is right up there, head’s in a good place. Crossing my fingers that it passes!

I know right and it's one of the first times in a long time we could get together and do something, FML. Spring weather should come soon so hopefully we get a bit of sun/clear skies here.

I've put all my eggs in one basket to hike the Grand Canyon rim to rim one day in October. Everything is booked, so if it rains, it's going to suck!!!

Oh, I have a plan!!!

I'm going there with the GF in a few weeks, doing all the touristy stuff then, taking all the pics, etc..

When I go again in Oct, it's all about the hike. Of course I'll take some pics from inside the canyon, but if there's weather, no biggie because I'd have already seen it.

Checking off bucket list items, before I get too old. Went to Peru last October and hiked to Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain. Currently planning a trip to Africa to hike up Kilimanjaro.

Do your fun stuff now, don't wait!!!

Sup UG.

Quick update. Stomach issues persisted. :( Seeing blood which is a sure sign of a flare up and inflammation. Definitely not ideal. I am holding off for a little while before contacting the Doctor as their first port of call is to prescribe Prednisolone which is awful for me (mental, water retention, acne).

I am hoping it clears up. I went over a year without any symptoms or medication so there’s a chance.

Due to this I have had to visit the bathroom much more regularly and I am finding it hard to sleep through. This has caused a little bit of fatigue which is making day to day life a little more stressful to contend with but I haven’t let it impact my training yet.

Last week I completed a 7 in 7 days HIIT session challenge, Monday I completed a 90 minute HIIT session and I’ve been lifting most days with some outdoor running sprinkler in when the weather allows. My fitness seems to be improving and strength is up but I’m aware that may not last for much longer if this flare worsens.

Cycle is still Test, NPP and Var (300, 150 and 25 respectively) and 3 IU GH 5/week. I may look at peptides as I’ve heard some stories of them helping reduce inflammation/healing the gut plus it’ll probably benefit me with all of the training/high impact work I’m doing.

Outside of that, everything is going well. So much more hobbies, friends and opportunities since I moved in to the city. Coaching full time. Good circle of people around me. I’d say I’d be pretty much content if I could stop shitting blood. :ROFLMAO:

Ridiculous but funny story I wanted to share with you guys because I almost couldn’t believe it - a random account messaged me on Instagram with the usual muscle worship patter, calling me sir, asking if he could pay a tribute etc. I’ve had it plenty of times before and they just turn out to be complete time wasters getting a cheap thrill from baiting people in to replying. Anyway, I called his bluff and told him I’d heard this a million times before and sent him my details thinking he’d air it. The guy’s sent £400 over. 😂 Madness TBH. Dinner’s on him.

Woman gave me the ,, young man can you come inside and take a look at something for me ... yes ma'am ... ended up giving me a ring I had to take to a jeweler to get appraised before I could sell it. Paid for my rent and a few nights down the pub lol

Paid for my rent and a few nights down the pub lol
Beautiful. Hopefully more slaves and rich ladies come our way with the cost of living going up and all.

I did a photo/video shoot for ESN guys, mainly a European brand so you folk may not have heard of them. Waiting for completed product to be edited etc. but I think we got some sick footage. Felt a bit of pressure with eyes on me under legit lighting etc. but I did my best. 😇

Hi folks.

I had to contact the IBD flare email address because my gut has been off for like a month now. Started with a little blood here and there, ended up with lots of blood 10+ times per day. Not good and I started to feel quite fatigued as a result. Very frustrating because I had gone more than a year without medication/symptoms but I guess it's the nature of the illness that it can flare up unexpectedly.

I'm booked in to talk to a specialist mid-May (the wait times here for medical treatment suck). I did speak to one of the gents from the IBD team and he had me come in to the hospital today for some blood samples, 8 vials in total to check B-vitamins, iron levels etc. Also, as a temporary measure, they've prescribed Prednisolone (corticosteroid) suppositories. I tried the tablets with previous flare ups and they made me feel awful. I am told this method of administering the drug has a more local effect than systemic so side effects should be much lesser. Either way, I could do with getting on top of this. The first one has 'gone in' this morning and it could be placebo, but already feeling some relief.

I have still been training and doing my cardio as normal but I have been feeling the fatigue more during regular day to day stuff. I've probably been digging in to the reserves just to train because I know it helps keep me on an even keel mentally.

So HOPEFULLY no/minimal sides and some relief from symptoms very soon and that should tide me over 'til I talk to the specialist and get a more permanent plan/solution in place.

Bit of a bump in the road but I will still be doing what I can to make progress with my physique and fitness in the meantime.
