Interested in how many of the members have home gyms, especially after Covid hit. I started collecting used equipment right before covid hit and have been lifting in my basement ever since. I do miss the gym at times , but have cut down my gym time at home with not talking , waiting for equipment etc.

Current Equipment :

Hammer and strength squat rack
Matrix decline bench
Power house lat pull
Full set of CAP 5-110lbs
Titan fitness T bar row
Calf raise sit and standing
Bench press
Seated Curl
Roman chair
750 lbs of plates

Few pieces of cardio equipment
Elliptical and tread

Have some used cybex machines coming next week if we can fit it.

Thanks, took some time but was relatively cheaper than you think getting it used , the CAP dumbbells were the most difficult to obtain and expensive. I just never want to sell my house now, because moving this shit will be a chore.

Turkey that's fucking insane! Did you own your own gym at once? What a labor of love that set up took, damn.

Where did you end up getting them?

I'm always shopping around for dumbbells. I don't have my own house yet, but I'd be willing to stash dumbbells under my bed lol.

I am going to be starting from scratch in June putting together a home gym. If anyone runs across any killer deals on power racks and Olympic weights let me know.

5-75 lbs i got threw marketplace... Lots of rich people buy sets for their kids in football ect then they leave for college. I just buy bring cash and say here take or leave it, works like 75% of the time.

80-120lb i bought thru amazon dealer. When i bought sets 80, 90, 100, and 110 cost about 300ish each. 120lbs is around $490 now. The price per lb is very high after 80lbs

I would start on marketplace, unless you have money to burn. Also if you have a local gym that's noncommercial most have a warehouse full of shit they want to sell to make room for new equipment , go in ask the owner. You'd be surprised if you have a cash on hand what people will sell stuff for that's taking up space.

most metro areas have retailers who buy up used equipment from gyms that go under .... you can find good deals on different pieces of equipment

One of the gyms I work at is supposed to be closing later this year. We have dumbbells all the way up to 145 pounds.

I'll try my best to get a few pairs.

Agree, that's where i found some cybex pieces and some other stuff...

( old ymca closed down , or purchased new equipment)

He bought it all has massive warehouse. Selling cybex machines for $300! Some of the stuff is way older with that blue paint from the 70s, i got a tri push down that i was looking at for 250.00.

Might not be able to fit it down the stairs however. I know these commercial machines don't break down as much.

When I had my garage gym I got 80% on market place. Had a rack, cables, dip station, Hyperextension, deadlift platform, pull up bar I mounted in the ceiling and rings sort army from the ceiling, dumbbells up to 70s, and a set of 100s. Few barbells and attachments, and that was pretty much it but I loved it. Plus used and free random mirrors I set up, like large bathroom mirrors people have away after remodel, etc. it looked pretty good and was very functional, but not as nice as yours.

Growing up my dad had a dedicated building he built for his home gym, a 20x30 building finished in with heating and air and tv and all. It’s was pretty nice.

When I got older my parents built a house on a different area of the land, and power was off to the building. But there were batteries and a generator, couldn’t run ac so very hot in the summer. Propane heat in the winter but obviously those bars and equipment were freezing so hands would suffer haha. Ran lights and stereo off batteries and inverter until they were low, fired up generator to charge. Fun times haha. I’d warm my hands up on the light bulbs when out of propane (before leds haha)

Sorry to bump this old thread. A member asked me in pm to post a pic. But im too dumb to be able to post in pm. I dont have attatch files there.
Wasn't going to post mine from respect to you guys who paid a ton of cash for yours. But most of mine I got for free. People even paid me to take some things away. 20231010_093217.jpg20231010_093135.jpg20231010_093123.jpg20231010_093030.jpg20231010_093016.jpg20231010_092843.jpg
