If you can't do rows why worry about curls? Focus on these fundamentals. Not trying to be a dick, just seems like the carriage is before the horse. As you add weight and practice form you will "feel" it.

Well I guess that's good, considering no one accidentally gets a Mr. Olympia body... it takes an incredible amount of dedication and hard work towards diet, training, and rest.

This comment reminds me of women I've spoken with about working out, only to be told "I don't want to lift weights because I don't want to get big and bulky".

The response I give them is applicable to what you said as well; you will only get as big as the amount of food you can take in and your training intensity allows you to get.
